I know the IonBlast=RING1 and IonBeam=IONBEAM is part of the AnimList along with the IonCannonWH. Ive seen some mods where they changed the lighting storm to the ion cannon. Pretty cool to do even though I thought most of it was hard coded. This was done because you cant create a new superweapon but you can edit one that is in use. Using one of those should give it that wave effect your looking for.
