Here is an updated EXE file for TibEd v1.53 available for download:

Extract it to your TibEd folder. This will resolve the freeze bug, it will fix a bug in the dropdown menus and make some minor changes (which were supposed to be in v1.54).
TibEd v1.54 has been delayed, I do not have time to release it right now. Note that in this new Exe file, there is one change from v1.54 in there: In the add dialog, the units list is now sorted 
(finally 
).
At least this version resolves all known issues (except for the black background in the Add dialog under Windows XP).
