They are located inside the CSF (strings) file, RA2.CSF at the bottom of the section tree on the left. Double-click it to edit it. Then, you need to look up the name of the Americans, which is "Name:Americans" (check the UIName property for the America country).
So go into the "Name" group and change the "Americans" name to something you want.
